Development[]

The game was annouced in 2017 as a part of the trilogy with Rosemary Reed as a protagonist. In December, 2020, following the release of Broken Porcelain, Stormind Games and Chris Darril stated that design documents and storyline for the game were ready, but the development had yet to be started due to the creator and the studio being occupied with different projects.[5] Chapter 3 was intended to be a next-gen title utilizing Playstation's DualSense technology.

In early 2021, a graphic novel was announced as part of a "definitive Director's cut".[6] On September 14, 2021, following the annoucement of his new project Bye Sweet Carole[7] Chris Darril tweeted that Remothered 3 is no longer in his plans[1], leaving the project and the future of the franchise in undetermined state.

In January 2022, Chris Darril announced his departure from the series.[8]

Stormind Games stated that they were planning to release more horror games in the future but no further statements on the status of Remothered were made[9].

In August 2022, Chris Darril shared a concept art of Rosemary Reed as a fugitive and some story bits for the unproduced chapter.[4]

In October 2022, he shared several pages from a cancelled comic, events of which would have led to the main story of Chapter 3[10].
