Luca Balboni (born September 1, 1985, Bologna) is an Italian composer for film, television, and media.

Biography Edit

Luca attended Conservatorio Giovanni Battista Martini in Bologna and graduated in piano performance and studied composition. He became devoted to film musical composition after meeting the Academy Award winners Michael Giacchino and Luis Bacalov.

In 2013, after the meeting with Christopher Young in Cordova, Balboni moved to the United States following the mentoring program of the composer in Los Angeles. In the same year he joined the team at Hans Zimmer's studio, Remote Control Productions.

In 2015, he worked for several animated films included “The Big, The Bad and the Bunny”, and worked on the score for the 2016/2017 film "Mine" starring Armie Hammer.

In 2017, Balboni announced that he will be co-composing the original soundtrack for Remothered: Tormented Fathers along with well-known Japanese composer, Nobuko Toda.
