Nobuko Toda (born November 18, 1972, Tokyo) is a Japanese composer and music director. Her music style integrates electronic instruments with dynamic, lyrical orchestration.

Biography[]

Nobuko started composing at the age of four on the piano and electric organ by putting music to picture books and nursery tales.

She graduated with Dual Diploma in film scoring and contemporary writing of Music at Berklee College of Music under the Georges Delerue Scholarship and Chicago Commercial Music Producer’s Award.

In 2003, she was chosen as the in-house composer, and was for 7 years where she applied her film-scoring technique and orchestral mock-up skills in music team, and worked with director Hideo Kojima for Konami Digital Entertainment's Metal Gear Solid series, mainly scoring for cutscenes. On the PS3 platform game, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, she composed music alongside Harry Gregson-Williams for the cinematic movie in game throughout Metal Gear Solid series.

In 2010, Toda established music production FILMSCORE LLC, based in Tokyo and Los Angeles, providing scores for coming up video games, films, and TV drama series. She is also interested in the education of young composers.

In 2016, Toda has worked on Clock Tower's spiritual successor NightCry as well as Chris.

In 2017, it was confirmed that Toda will be working with Chris again on his upcoming survival horror trilogy Remothered. She will be composing the original soundtrack for Remothered along with Luca Balboni.
